Buying guide

What to specify on a cooler backpack

A backpack cooler is judged on three things: how long it holds cold, whether it leaks when it tips, and how it carries when full. Specify the foam wall (8–10 mm for day use, 12–15 mm for a full outdoor day), a heat-welded or leak-tested PEVA/TPU liner, padded shoulder straps with a sternum strap on larger sizes, and a separate dry pocket for phones and keys.

  • Capacity: quote it in cans and litres — retail buyers compare both.
  • Closure: a zip with storm flap holds temperature longer than a plain zip.
  • Branding: the front pocket panel takes screen print, heat transfer or a woven patch.

Frequently asked

What is the MOQ for a custom cooler backpack?

500 pieces per colour on a catalogue model. A new pattern or custom-dyed colour starts at 1,000 pieces per colour because fabric mills sell coated polyester and liners in minimum dye lots.

How long does a cooler backpack keep food cold?

With a 10 mm foam wall, a welded liner and two gel packs, refrigerated food stays below 8 °C for roughly 6–8 hours at 25 °C ambient. Thicker foam and a storm flap extend that. We can run a timed test on your approved sample.

Can the cooler backpack be leak-proof?

Yes — specify a heat-welded PEVA or TPU liner instead of a stitched one. Every order is checked with a 1-litre water test for 10 minutes on sampled units before shipment.

Not sure which construction fits?

Send the end use, the landed target and the quantity. We come back with two or three candidate models and what each one changes — fabric, liner, foam and carton spelled out.
