Choosing a cooler bag construction

Every insulated bag is the same four decisions: outer fabric, foam wall, liner and closure. Most retail cooler bags use 600D PU-coated polyester, 8–15 mm EPE foam, a PEVA or TPU liner and a coil zip. A 10 mm wall with a welded liner and two gel packs keeps refrigerated food below 8 °C for roughly 6–8 hours at 25 °C ambient; thicker foam and a storm flap extend that.

Frequently asked

What is the MOQ for custom cooler bags?

500 pieces per colour on a catalogue model and 1,000 pieces per colour for a new pattern or custom-dyed colour. Small trial runs of 100–300 pieces are sometimes possible on lunch bags at a higher unit price.

How long does a cooler bag keep things cold?

A 10 mm EPE foam wall with a welded leak-proof liner and two gel packs holds refrigerated food below 8 °C for roughly 6–8 hours at 25 °C. Thicker walls, a storm flap and a light outer colour extend that; we test the approved sample on request.

Can you put our logo on the cooler bags?

Yes — screen print, heat transfer, sublimation, embroidery, woven labels and PU or silicone patches are all available. A counter sample with your logo takes 7–12 days.

What test reports do cooler bags need?

Usually EU REACH SVHC, California Proposition 65 and food-contact migration testing on the liner; children's lines add EN 71-3 or CPSIA. Reports are issued per model and market in your buying entity's name.

Not sure which construction fits?

Send the end use, the landed target and the quantity. We come back with two or three candidate models and what each one changes — fabric, liner, foam and carton spelled out.
