Specifying for sand, salt and sun

Beach products fail at the zip and the print. Specify a coil zip (sand jams tooth zips less), a light outer colour to reflect heat, UV-stable inks or sublimated polyester, and a wipe-clean liner. A base panel in PVC-coated fabric keeps wet sand out of the bag.

  • Colour: light outer colours absorb less heat than dark ones.
  • Testing: print rub (10 dry, 10 wet) and colour fastness to light on request.
  • Formats: tote, backpack and chair cooler cover most beach programmes.

Read the beach cooler bag guide or the picnic and camping project.

Frequently asked

What makes a good beach cooler bag?

A light outer colour, a coil zip with a storm flap, a welded or wipe-clean liner, sand-shedding fabric and handles long enough for shoulder carry. Foam of 10–15 mm keeps drinks cold through an afternoon.

Can beach bags be personalised with names or logos?

Logos and brand artwork are standard. Individual names on each bag are not a bulk process; for programmes that need it, we can quote a blank name patch or label window instead.

Do prints fade in the sun?

Sublimation on polyester and UV-stable screen-print inks hold up best. Colour fastness to light can be tested on the approved sample before bulk.

Not sure which construction fits?

Send the end use, the landed target and the quantity. We come back with two or three candidate models and what each one changes — fabric, liner, foam and carton spelled out.
