Planning a back-to-school range

When should we order back-to-school backpacks?
For a July–August selling season, approve samples by January or February and ship bulk in May or June. Chinese New Year closes factories for two to three weeks, so plan around it.
What testing do school backpacks need?
EN 71-3 migration testing for the EU and CPSIA (lead and phthalates) for the US are the usual minimum for children's products, plus REACH SVHC. Reports are issued per model in your buying entity's name.
What size backpack fits a primary school child?
Most primary pupils carry a 12–18 litre backpack about 35–40 cm tall; teenagers move to 20–30 litres with a laptop sleeve. Fit the bag to the child's back length, not age alone.
