The brief
Grocery and convenience buyers work to two fixed numbers: a landed cost per unit and the date the product has to be on the shelf. Everything else in the specification is negotiable only as far as those two allow.
Because the candidate models below are already tooled, the schedule is driven by artwork approval and material booking rather than pattern development — which is what makes a checkout or seasonal end-cap programme realistic inside one buying cycle.
What the buyer has to hold
- Hit a landed cost at the destination warehouse, not an FOB price
- Barcode, country-of-origin and care labelling ready for the retailer's onboarding
- Header card and polybag that hang on a standard peg hook
- Carton size that palletises cleanly for the retailer's DC
